Bishop Salifu Amoako’s Son Sentenced

16-year-old Salifu Amoako’s son has been sentenced to six months at the Senior Correctional Centre for manslaughter.

The teenager drove into another vehicle in East Legon, killing two passengers at the spot. On Thursday, December 19, 2024, the court passed judgement, sentencing him to six months imprisonment.

At the initial court sitting, the teenager pleaded not guilty to charges of manslaughter, negligently causing harm, dangerous driving, and driving without a license. He however changed his plea to guilty, which led to his conviction.

In addition to his sentence, the court ordered him to report to probation officers every 14 days. Also, he was directed to sign an undertaking not to drive until he turns 18.

Court Fines Salifu Amoako and His Wife Ghs6,000 Each

In a separate ruling, the court fined the teenager’s parents 500 penalty units, which equals GHS 6,000 for failing to supervise their son properly.

Also, they were instructed to cover every damage caused in the accident, including a light pole valued at GHS 8,000.
