Application Deadline: June 24, 2023
Background:
The Future Rising Fellowship Program supports young leaders ages 17-25 who are working at the intersection of climate change, environmental justice and gender equity and who wish to tell stories in that space.
Successful applicants receive a $5,000 stipend and participate in a year-long program consisting of virtual workshops that cover storytelling training, professional development and creative enrichment. Throughout the year, Fellows have access to experts drawn from a diverse range of disciplines: media professionals, journalists, educators, advocates, filmmakers, artists, academics, authors and climate scientists.
Each fellow creates a narrative project during the course of their Fellowship with practical support from the Future Rising team as well as external mentors and advisors. The Fellowship runs from August 2023 – August 2024. Fellows’ narrative projects in the 2023 Cohort must relate to Girls and Women in Conservation or Local Solutions.
Other Benefits:
Each fellow will receive a stipend of US$5,000. In addition, fellows will be invited to apply for a small additional grant for direct project expenses and materials.
Eligibility:
Open to applicants from all countries. While the Fellow’s storytelling projects can be in any language, all Fellowship meetings and discussions are in English.
Application:
You must apply by completing the application form, answering all the questions, and uploading work samples. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.
