Scholarship Description:

The Women Techsters initiative is a one-year technology upskilling program that is provided free of charge to young women aged between 16 and 40 years throughout Africa. This program is designed to equip participants with in-demand skills that are globally relevant and necessary for starting careers or businesses in technology. Its primary goal is to eliminate the digital and technology knowledge gap that exists between men and women in the tech industry and ensure that women and girls have equal access to technology opportunities.

Application Process

To gain entry into the Women Techsters Fellowship program, applicants must undergo a highly competitive selection process, with only the top 3% being admitted. The program is scheduled to begin in September 2023 and will last for one year. During the first six months, participants will receive virtual training on both technical and soft skills. The remaining six months will involve experiential learning in the form of internships or business incubation and mentorship.

• An ideal fellow is an African woman, aged between 16 and 40 years, who embraces empathy, humility, and inclusion as guiding values
• Must have both technical and soft skills
• Team player, self-starter, hardworking, dedicate time and dentifies tech as a propeller for her future.
• Must have intellectual rigour, vision, research skills, curiosity, openness kindness, and much more.
